Our parental leave benefits bring the security that employees will be welcomed back post-leave. In FY18, 82 percent of employees (92 percent female, 75 percent male) who took parental leave returned to work at Abt. Working parents often take advantage of our flexible work hours and telecommuting policies.
We are committed to providing an extensive suite of benefits to promote the health and wellness of our employees and their families.
Our comprehensive benefits package for U.S.-based staff includes company-subsidized medical and dental insurance plans; company-funded life, disability and leave plans; business travel accident insurance and an Employee Assistance Plan. In addition, employees can choose from a variety of additional employee-paid benefits that we offer through payroll deductions - including Flexible Spending Plans, supplemental life and disability insurance, and vision coverage.
We contribute a percentage of our profits each year to eligible employees (U.S. citizens and permanent residents) via the Employee Stock Ownership Program and provide a generous matching contribution to the employee's 401K. Benefit packages for international staff follow the customs and regulations of the countries in which they work.

Our commuter benefits support employee behavior that not only lowers our greenhouse gas emissions but support employees' active lifestyle choices.
Transit Subsidy
In our U.S. offices, we cover 75% of our employees' commuting costs up to a max of $75-$100 (depending on office location). As of April 2018, nearly 300 employees participate in the transit subsidy program.
Bicycle Subsidy
Abt provides $120 per calendar year of reimbursement for bicycle-related purchases. Last year, 70 employees took advantage of the subsidy for purchases of bicycles, helmets, tune-ups and more. As an added incentive, secure bike racks, indoor storage and shower facilities are available, as well as an emergency ride home program.
A strong sense of belonging and fulfillment through recognition and connections to the community- inside and outside work-builds a strong culture. Employees connect with each other and the Global Abt community through internal social networks, community service and social events.
Through our Spot Recognition Program, supervisors can reward employees who go above and beyond their responsibilities with a cash bonus. Monthly "Milestones" events celebrate employee birthdays and work anniversaries.
AbtXchange is a social networking platform that promotes healthy actions and exchange of ideas among staff around the world. Since its launch, more than 1,000 employees have engaged on topics from health and wellness and global environmental challenges to professional development.
